TecHorns is a family-owned business dedicated to creating high-quality, customizable handheld train horns that are loud, durable, and built to stand out. Founded by husband and wife team John and Amanda, TecHorns was inspired by their love for sports and innovation.

John and Amanda’s journey together began in middle school, leading to two decades of marriage and raising two amazing children—a teenage daughter and a son who is active in youth sports.

The Birth of TecHorns

In 2021, at their son’s football game, John saw a fan using a handmade train horn crafted from a power drill. While the idea was cool, John knew he could make it more customizable, more efficient, and without sacrificing a perfectly good tool.

Using PVC and other parts, he built a customized handheld train horn to support his son’s team. While it was effective and eye catching, it was also heavy, time-consuming, and not cost-effective. As demand grew from other parents and players, John leveraged his years of experience using CAD design software for work and combined it with his hobby in 3D printing to develop a lightweight, fully enclosed, and highly customizable loud train horn. After years of perfecting the design, TecHorns was born.
